VIPS Spandan 2016: Back To The Roots

Spandan, an annual mega event organized by Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies is one of the biggest media-cultural festivals in Delhi.
The three-day mega media fest offers a platform for college students across Delhi to not only exhibit their talent & skills but also present them with opportunities to associate with various prominent media personalities, become part of conversation or debate & secure practical exposure.
From media interactions to movie screenings, from musical events to literary, from informal gatherings to competitive events, this annual affair has it all. It is an event to celebrate our varied culture, and traditions and not forget, the colors of media. It aims to promote creativity to its utmost extent.
With an intent to promote and support the prestigious and inspiring ‘Make in India’ campaign of the Indian Government, the theme of Spandan 2016 was ‘Back to the Roots’.
I was invited to attend the comedy event ‘Funny Side Up’, a platform for young talent to showcase their Funny side. Who doesn’t love comedy? and that too when it’s raw and people an eager to prove themselves.
As it was an Individual competition hence, the time limit was decided for each performance by 4 to 6 minutes. Participants were judged on the basis of spontaneity, content, presentation & of course sense of humor!
It was great to see so much enthusiasm among the students to be a part of the event. watched some great talents and experienced fantastic moments which actually helped me to ease out my day. Yes, being into the corporate, Laughing is the only medicine and this event really helped me to overcome all my worries.
Overall it was a very well-planned and executed event by VIPS. Kudos to the entire team behind organizing the same, not only the comedy event I also heard about various other events which took play during the three days fest and they all were fantastic.
In the end, I must say, Spandan has evolved as a platform for media exposure & interface over the years. Recognizing these talented students, Spandan has drawn the attention of various people, complimenting the functioning of the fest.
