The beautiful bond I share with my dear mom!

The complete universe can be summarized in a single word and that is Mother. Lucky are we who have this wonderful God in the form of human being in our lives, who has remained with us as a guardian as well as a friend, philosopher and guide through thick and thin. However, every mother is unique in her own way and accordingly, the relationship with her children also varies based on the characteristic traits. We have seen lots of movies portraying the image of a mother in different shades many of which we can relate with our own mother as well.

As far as my mother goes, I can find similarities with that of the character of Shashi played by Sridevi in English Vinglish along with a blend of the character of the mother played by Farida Jalal in the movie Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge. Firstly, just like the two characters, my mother has been a very progressive lady and has stood beside me in order to ensure that I become self-sufficient in our own way.

She herself is a Masters in Economics but being married at a very young age followed by the arrival of myself and my sister, she could not pursue a different life of profession apart from being a housewife. However, she has remained a good writer of thoughts and has always encouraged us to read and study as much as possible to become independent and have a certain financial strength so that I do not have to depend on anyone and at the same time, I have an identity of my own as well. These characteristics are quite in line with that of Shashi in English Vinglish and the second character as well.

Then again, she has understood my soft feelings related to relationships but at the same time, has given me advice regarding our decisions. On the whole, it has always remained a lovely motherly relationship alloyed with the essence of companionship at the same time.
