Banking is nice and convenient, but it does come with certain risks. Just as you hear of people being robbed at ATMs, or having their cards cloned, so your bank accounts are also a point of vulnerability.

State Bank of India, one of the nation’s most trusted banks, has been re-inventing itself continuously to meet all its customer’s needs. Over the years, the State Bank of India has taken numerous steps toward virtualization in an effort to simplify the consumer experience and provided adequate security at banking facilities.

On the occasion of Computer Security Day, SBI recognizes and emphasizes the importance of online safety and educated us about certain tips on how to safely use IT relating to various channels. A few of them are mentioned below:

• To Access the Bank website we should only by typing the URL  
• You should never click on any links to access the bank website 
• Ensure that our computer is virus-free  
• You should change your Internet banking password at regular intervals 
• Always check the last login date and time on the post-login page.  
• Avoid accessing Internet banking accounts from cyber cafes or shared PCs.  
• Beware of Phishing e-mails as Banks will never ask about any confidential information like our Password, account details, PIN etc.  
• Do not keep your ATM card and PIN together.
• Never accept offers of assistance from strangers and one should seek help from the Bank.
• Avoid using the ATM, if you feel crowded or unsafe.
  

  As the technology that surrounds us continues to develop, the way that we communicate — both with one another and with the Bank will also continue to evolve, and the demand for security will only grow stronger and become an integral part of life.
