India Plans to Create World’s Largest Safari Park – Here’s What You Need to Know
World’s Largest safari park
According to the state government’s announcement on Thursday, Haryana will create the largest jungle safari park outside of Africa. The Aravalli range will be home to the 10,000-acre themed safari park, which would also include portions of the Gurugram and Nuh districts. According to a government release, “This initiative will be the largest such endeavor in the world.”
The largest artfully curated safari park outside of Africa is now located in Sharjah. The Sharjah Safari, which debuted in February 2022, spans over 2,000 acres.
According to the government, the proposed Aravalli park would be five times larger and include a large herpetarium (a zoological exhibition space for reptiles and amphibians), an aviary/bird park, four zones for big cats, a sizable area for herbivores, a section for exotic animal birds, an underwater world, nature trails, visitors, tourism zones, botanical gardens, and biomes including equatorial, tropical, coastal, and desert, among others.
In this regard, Sharjah Safari was visited by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Union Minister for Forest, Environment, and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav, according to the state government.
On Wednesday, Khattar traveled to Dubai for a single day. Khattar claimed the NCR region of Haryana had enormous potential for creating a jungle safari upon his homecoming on Thursday.
According to him, the Jungle Safari plan will increase tourists while simultaneously giving locals job chances.
“The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and the state of Haryana would collaborate on the jungle safari project. In accordance with the plan, the federal government will also give Haryana money for the undertaking “Khattar stated.
Two businesses with international experience in constructing and running such facilities have been shortlisted after a global Expression of Interest for the project was published, the chief minister noted.
“The businesses will now participate in a global design contest for the right to build, manage, and run the park. To oversee the project, an Aravalli Foundation would be established “Khattar stated.
The chief minister continued, the Central Zoo Authority had performed an evaluation study of the area and concurred that the construction of such a park was technically feasible.
The creation of a jungle safari will, on the one hand, aid in the preservation of the Aravalli mountain range, while, on the other, a large number of visitors from Delhi and nearby places will come for tourism, providing plenty of job prospects for locals, according to him.
The chief minister added that the Home Stay Policy would also benefit the nearby villages’ residents. Numerous birds, wild animals, and butterfly species can be found in the Aravalli mountain region.
180 species of birds, 15 species of mammals, 29 species of aquatic animals and reptiles, and 57 species of butterflies were discovered in the Aravalli range, according to a statement from the Haryana government.
