Delhi edition of Bollywood Music Project ends on a high note
Touted as Asia’s largest Bollywood Music Festival, Bollywood Music Project, organized by Event Capital (a Laqshya Media Group Company) and TM Talent Management was held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium Grounds. The two-day festival saw a footfall of over 20,000 people.
Comprising over 60 iconic artists and is supported by over 200 musicians on three stages. The festival showcased an array of music genres such as contemporary, folk, Punjabi, rap, Sufi, pop, and hip hop.
The much-awaited performances of the day were by Badshah who made the audience dance to his famous party numbers like Wakhra Swag, DJ wale Babu and much more. The audience could hold back their enthusiasm as they danced non-stop as these two artists sang popular songs one after the other for an hour each. The venue was literally set on fire by the performances of singers such as Mame Khan, Zublee Baruah, Arko, Sukriti Kakar & Prakriti Kakar, Divya Kumar & Shefali Alvares Sunny M.R, Naksh Aziz, Shalmali Kholgade.
The show stopper of the two-day music festival was a performance by Amit Trivedi who sang his famous songs like Iktara and Manjha and he also fused some songs with Rajasthani folk singer Mame Khan. The surprise element for the music goers was the guest appearance on day 2 of Vishal Dadlani, who sang the famous Gulabo song.
One of the stages was bewitched by some of the young singers of the music industry like Shashi Suman, Bhoomi Trivedi, Swaroop Khan, Mohammed Irfan, Akshay Hariharan, Asees Kaur, Kanika Kapoor, Sajid-Wajid, etc. Jassie Gill, Babbal Rai & Hardy Sandhu mashed up songs like Delhi wali Girlfriend and the classic song like Aaj Jaane ki Ziddh Na Karo. Divya Kumar made the audience groove on Havan Karenge and Shefali Alvares sang Ishaaqzaade.
The audience not only enjoyed the seasoned artistes but also encouraged upcoming artistes by swooning to the songs sung by these artists.
Some of the upcoming artists who managed a good turnover of the audience were Lagori, Vipin Aneja, Meenal Jain, Bhaven Dhanak, Rakesh Maini & Sumedha Karmahe, Astitva, and Maadhyam. Reality show fame Darshan Raval won hearts by singing the classic Kya Hua Tera Vada and Humma Humma. Other upcoming artistes who performed during the festival were Gaurav Dutta, Goldie Sohel, Charu Semiwal, Shuchismita Das who sang the romantic number Samjhawan, Harish Moyal, Faridkot, Ashish Chhabra, and Akasa Singh.
Day two witnessed artists leaving the audience mesmerized by popular songs. The audience enjoyed it when Mame Khan sang Padharo Mhare Des, and Jassie Gill witnessed people dancing to the song ‘Baapu tera Laden Toh Nahi. People switched stages to make sure that they enjoy the variety of songs being doled out by artistes seasoned and upcoming.
This year the theme of the festival is called “CIRQUE”.
The festival had larger-than-life installations based on this theme . There were selfie booths for music lovers with quirky props. The festival promoted their sponsor “Honda Navi” in a very unique way, they came up with a jingle for the brand which was composed by Shashi Suman and sung by Goldie Sohel during the festival, the jingle received a fabulous response from the audience. The festival ended on a high note, leaving a special memory in the hearts of millions of Delhiites.
On day 2, Asees Kaur performed her award-winning song “Bolna”, followed by a performance of Pawni Pandey who made the audience dance to the “Laila main Laila” song. Singer Zubeen Garg and Rapper Divine sung ‘Ek Main aur ek Tu’. Raftar and Manj Musik Nindy Kaur made everyone dance to the tunes of this chartbuster like “Dhakad” etc.
Yashita Sharma sang a fusion by mixing songs like Choli Ke Peeche with Bruno Mars’s Uptown funk. Sachin Jigar wooed all the ladies by singing Jeena Jeena from the movie Badlapur.
Rekha Bharadwaj added some fire to the stage by performing the song Sasural Genda Phool. There was a surprise element by the band Joker who sang “Bum Bum”. The finale act for Day One was by the Kings of Bollywood Music Vishal & Shekhar who sang the latest chartbusters like Gulabo and Balam Pichkari. They also sang some of their classic numbers like Om Shanti Om.
